সাগর ব্যাকুল ফেন-অক্ষরে
যতবার লেখে লেখা
চির-চঞ্চল অতৃপ্তিভরে
ততবার মোছে রেখা ॥

The shore whispers to the sea :
“Write to me what thy waves struggle to say.”
The sea writes in foam again and again
and wipes off the lines in a boisterous despair.
