FERMÉ:  Life During the Pandemic

As the pandemic  hit the country, wrecking havoc all around, social interaction has been at a minimum.  The country,it’s people and countless families have been going through health and economic crisis. And one major threat that has since been bothering us all is the isolation. It has had it’s share of  ill-effects ; domestic violence, depression, anxiety to name a few.
However ,the time has been a time of self-learning, a time to bond with family and the world around us. For many ,this period of isolation has been a time for self-healing, a time to work on things that were left incomplete, dust down their old hobbies, find solace in doing things they love. There has been an overwhelming number of people putting out things that they have done and it’s absolutely beautiful seeing them coping in their own way during such testing times.

Though i myself am someone who is introverted and enjoys alone time,i have missed going out, walking the streets ,seeing my incredibly unique city. I miss going out to watch birds, sitting down under some tree and watch my favourite owls staring down with their hypnotic gaze as always. And it has been tough time as a photographer ,as some one who loves writing stories through photos.
Hence ,i made the most i could do in this time to know more about my surroundings, the little sparrow that made our terrace shed it’s home or the flock of pigeons that fly down to a house nearby every evening. It’s been amazing how over the months,we experienced the change of seasons.
Undeniably, opportunities have been very limited and this piece isn’t at all close to being good, but here’s a little peek into my time in quarantine.

It has been a great time for stargazers, thanks to the reduced pollution and intense dark skies of July and August, i captured the Milky way, though faint, right from my rooftop.

Times inside the house were those of self-exploration,introspection,boredom and daily chores

Gloomy evenings and scanty drizzles bring with them a feeling of melancholy, which i tried to potray through this video.
